How Does it Work?

Well, there are actually two different store fronts at The Sell-It-Center, the Online Auction Service and the Consignment Store. Lets tell you how each works.
The Sell-It-Center is an eBay Trading Assistant How The Sell-It-Center Online Auction Service Works
The Sell-It-Center is a registered eBay Trading Assistant. We maintain our good standing with eBay to remain listed in the eBay Trading Assistant directory.
If you would like to sell something on eBay all you need to do is bring the item into our store, (get directions here) and fill out a Consignment Services Contract. You will need to provide some basic information about yourself, such as:
  • Name
  • Address - City - State - Zip
  • Phone Number
  • Email (if you have one)
Then we will ask questions about the item and the auction. These will include: Get $$ for it with the Sell-It-Center!
  • What the item is
  • If you want to provide a description of the item we will take that down
  • Your choice of BASIC service or PREMIUM service
  • Payment for services questions
  • What to do with the item if it does not sell
  • We also estimate what the selling price might be and what you will receive for that sale price.
The we start all the work! We take the pictures, write the copy, do the listing on eBay, set up the auction and monitor it as it runs. If the buyers have any questions they come to us. If we are not sure of the answer - we call you. On eBay the item is listed as being for sale by The Sell-It-Center, and you get the benefit of our good feedback ratings and our auctioneering expertise. Once the auction closes we follow through on collecting the payments from the buyer, packing and shipping the item and then the best part - WE SEND YOU A CHECK!.

How The Sell-It-Center Consignment Store Works
The Sell-It-Center charges an annual bookkeeping fee of $5.00. This fee is paid the first time you bring in items each calendar year or may be deducted from your account balance. Employees will go through your items when you bring them in. Clothing must be in "like new", ready to sell condition. All clothing must be brought in on hangers excluding pants/slacks, jeans and skirts. Items must be free of stains, odorless, no pet hair, and no rummage sale tags. Any "no thank you's" will be returned to you at that time.

Clothes are popular items in our consignment store.Please do not take offense if we do not select some of your items. Our staff relies on past and present selling experience to know what sells in our store.

Items will be held for a period of 60 days from the date the items were brought in. You, the consignor, will receive 50% of the selling price.

It is the consignor's responsibility to come in and pick up any unsold items at the end of your consignment period. Any unsold items become the property of the Sell-It-Center after 60 days. Sell-it-Center staff reserves the right to price merchandise and the privilege of reducing the price to facilitate its sale. Any pricing requests by the consignor must be made at the time of the consignment.

In season clothes only:

    Spring & Summer - February 15th - August 1st
    Fall & Winter - August 15th - February 1st
Checks over $20.00 will be issued each month for items sold the prior month. Amounts under $20.00 will be paid in cash or carried over to the next month's check balance.

Items are left at the consignor's risk. We take extreme care when handling all merchandise; however, we cannot be responsible for loss or damage to merchandise due to fire, theft, etc.
